Best Instant Cameras in 2026

In an age where you take 200 photos and look at none of them, instant cameras force you to slow down and actually treasure the moment. There's something deeply satisfying about hearing that mechanical whir and watching a photo slowly appear in your hand. We compared Fujifilm's latest Instax models against Polaroid's refreshed Now 3rd Gen to see which delivers the best blend of image quality, fun factor, and value. These aren't precision instruments — they're joy machines. And at these prices, they make excellent gifts too.

Fujifilm's Instax Mini 12 in Lilac is the one to buy if you want the classic instant camera experience at the lowest price — it's cute, simple, and takes warm, nostalgic shots. The bundle version with extra film and accessories is a great gift option. Polaroid's Now 3rd Gen brings the iconic square format back with modern autofocus, which matters if you prefer that larger, more artistic frame. The Instax Mini 41 sits in the middle with a more refined shooting experience. None of these will replace your phone camera, but that's entirely the point.
