Logitech Brio 101 Review: Budget Webcam That Actually Delivers

Not everyone needs a $70 webcam, and Logitech knows it. The Brio 101, priced at just $37.15, is their answer to the question nobody asked out loud but everyone was thinking: can a budget webcam actually be good? The answer, after three weeks of daily use, is a qualified yes.

This is a stripped-down webcam in the best possible way. No fancy autofocus, no advanced light correction, no frills — just a solid 1080p sensor that captures clear video in well-lit environments. It's the kind of product that doesn't try to be something it's not, and there's real value in that honesty.

The 77-degree field of view is nearly identical to Logitech's pricier offerings, which is a pleasant surprise at this price point. You get a natural-looking frame that doesn't warp the edges of your face the way ultra-wide webcams do. The fixed-focus design means you need to position yourself at roughly arm's length, but once you're set, the image stays sharp.

Setup is absolutely painless — plug it into a USB-A port and your computer recognizes it instantly. No drivers, no software to install, no account to create. The built-in mono microphone handles voice pickup adequately for meetings, though it tends to amplify keyboard clatter if you type while talking.

At nearly half the price of the C920x, the Brio 101 makes a compelling case for budget buyers. You lose the superior light correction and stereo mics, but you keep the core 1080p experience. The Anker PowerConf B100 offers similar specs at a comparable price, though its wider angle may not suit everyone. For pure value, the Brio 101 is hard to beat in the sub-$50 webcam market.
